Join Effie & Lucía for full day of outdoor fun on Casco Bay's Long Island. Explore the ferry, beaches, coves and Indigenous games and crafts as we kick off the 4-day weekend. Date: Friday, October 6th Time: 9:00AM-3:15PM Where: Long Island (dropoff/pickup at Ocean Gateway in Portland) Best For: Grades 1-4 Maximum Group Size: 10 "Movement through active free play - particularly in the outdoors - is absolutely the most beneficial gift we as parents, teachers and caregivers can bestow on our children to ensure healthy bodies, creative minds, academic success, emotional stability and strong social skills." - Angela Hanscom All MOK programming utilizes public parks, trail systems and green spaces to help connect children and their families to accessible outdoor spaces. We feel that this approach allows both staff and families involved to learn about and appreciate outdoor recreation opportunities right here in Southern Maine. Our programs are outside, rain or shine. We will communicate directly with you and provide a packing list for the day ahead. Unless there is particularly bad weather in the forecast where there's a safety concern, we may end early or cancel. We will give you ~24hrs notice if this occurs.
