Where unstructured play meets outdoor adventure education. Where: Baxter Woods, Portland Time: 11:10AM-4:00PM Best For: 1st-4th graders Maximum Group Size: 5 Pickup: Ocean Ave Elementary A combination of exploring the woods and trails, outdoor education, games and unstructured self-directed play time. Our goal is to give kids a safe and fun space to release some energy after school and be with friends old and new! Warm drinks provided. Pickup by 4PM at the Percival St. trailhead. Our instructors pick up at Ocean Ave Elementary at 11:10AM and walk the 1/2 mile to Baxter Woods together. This group is 1-4 for a multi-age experience and will combine with our Longfellow after-school group for the final 1 1/2 hrs of the day. All MOK programming utilizes public parks, trail systems and green spaces to help connect children and their families to accessible outdoor spaces. We feel that this approach allows both staff and families involved to learn about and appreciate outdoor recreation opportunities right here in Southern Maine. For After-School Programs, instructors pick up groups at school and walk as a a group to basecamp. We see this as a time for kids to decompress from the day, catch up with friends and to reset before a fun afternoon outside! Our after-school programs are entirely outside, rain or shine. We will communicate directly with you and provide a packing list for the days ahead. Unless there is particularly bad weather in the forecast where there's a safety concern, we may end early or cancel. We will give you ~24hrs notice if this occurs. In the event school is cancelled for weather, there is no MOK and no refunds given.
