This session is full. Check back for summer & fall series! Biking season is here! Let's brush the dust of our bikes & bodies and get reacquainted with some of our favorite trails. Improve your fundamental skills & bike knowledge while connecting with other women. Dates: THURSDAY nights Time: 5:30-7pm Session: May 4th -> June 8th (6 weeks) Where: Rotating Location (Greater-Portland) Best For: beginner to intermediate riders Maximum Group Size: 6 WHAT THIS SERIES IS: - 6 weeks of guided group rides - Explore different locations in the Greater-Portland - Learn the trail systems, practice navigational skills and gain the confidence to show up at a new trailhead and hit the trails - A place to meet other folks at similar levels and find potential riding partners - Progression in mtb skills based on the location and trail difficulty - Practicing fundamentals like body positioning, climbing, descending, choosing lines, etc. - Improving bike awareness so rides are safe and FUN - Breaking down certain skills into small steps & sessioning certain lines when appropriate - Practicing route-building (how to create and ride custom routes) - Learning and practicing trail etiquette - Encourage exploration and respect for Maine's trails and landscapes WHO YOU ARE: - You identify as a woman or non-binary - You love riding bikes! - You want to meet & build connections with other riders at your skill & ability level - You want to learn what trail systems are beginner friendly and how to navigate them - You want to improve your riding ability - You are comfortable on your mountain bike and have done some trail riding - You are looking to gain confidence in your riding ability - You want to get instruction on the fundamental skills - You want accountability to get out there weekly to ride - You want to be supported & encouraged by other women We highly recommend you take a Fundamental Skills Clinic (with us or elsewhere) prior to this series. In order to allow everyone instructional time and foster a safe and comfortable ride experience, we are limiting this group to 8 participants. No drop-ins. You don't need to be able to come every single week but please sign up for the entire session :) Please plan to bring your own bike, helmet, waterbottle and snack. All details emailed when the date gets closer. It's early season, so we recommend giving your bike a tune-up before the first session.
