When school’s out, the adventure begins. Our Pop-Up and Vacation Camps embrace the outdoors in every season—rain, snow, or shine—inviting kids to explore, play, and connect in nature’s ever-changing classroom. While some winter days may include a bit of indoor time, each program is rooted in outdoor exploration, discovery, and connection.

Why Outdoor Camps?

We believe the best kind of learning happens when kids are free to move, create, and explore. Nature fuels imagination, builds strength, and nurtures social-emotional growth. By spending full days outside—whether in sunshine, drizzle, or snow—children develop comfort and confidence in all kinds of weather while rediscovering the simple joy of being outdoors.​​

Small Groups. Big Connection.

We keep our groups intentionally small—10 children with a 1:5 instructor-to-child ratio—to ensure every participant is seen, supported, and included. Smaller groups allow for deeper connection, meaningful friendships, and authentic outdoor play that meets each child where they are.​

Guided by Play and Curiosity.

Our days flow with a mix of unstructured play and guided group activities—hiking, games, storytelling, crafts, and exploration. We follow the children’s lead, offering choices and space to pursue interests while weaving in opportunities for teamwork and creative problem-solving. Play is our foundation for growth—socially, emotionally, and creatively.

Our team of outdoor educators brings both expertise and heart to every camp. They are compassionate guides, adaptable leaders, and role models who foster trust and belonging. Whether helping a child navigate a muddy trail or cheering on a new skill, our instructors are committed to supporting every child’s growth with patience, flexibility, and joy.

Program Highlights

• All Outdoor, All Year: Outdoors—rain or shine. Children build confidence and comfort in all types of weather. 

• Place-Based Learning: Camps are held in local parks and natural areas in and around Portland, selected for safety, accessibility, and natural diversity.

• Small Group Size: 8–10 children per group, designed for individualized support.

• Ages K–5th Grade: Age-appropriate activities and challenges designed to inspire curiosity and confidence.

• Child-Led Exploration: Through free play, storytelling, games, crafts, and guided discovery, children learn to navigate nature and relationships with independence and joy.

• Aligned with School Schedules: We follow the Portland Public Schools and other local school calendars to select days for pop-up programs.
