Ready to ride? This Pop-Up is a full day of mountain biking for riders of all levels, from those newer to the trails to riders looking to build on their existing skills. Campers will be grouped by experience and ability so everyone can learn, practice, and ride at an appropriate pace. Date: Friday, April 23rd Time: 9:00AM-3:00PM Where: Weeks/Moodys Trails, Gorham Best For: Grades 2-4 Maximum Group Size: 10 We’ll practice balance, body position, braking, shifting, cornering, and trail scanning through games, skills drills, and coached practice, then put those skills to work on the trails. Come ride, learn, and have an adventure with us! All of our mountain bike programs are held in small groups to make sure that everyone is met where they are skill-wise and given plenty of one-on-one instruction to build their confidence on two wheels. Our programs take place outdoors, giving kids plenty of time to move, explore, play, and connect with the natural world. By staying outside, we minimize time spent in vehicles and maximize time immersed in the places we visit. Each program is shaped by the season and location. Small group sizes allow our educators to get to know each child and adapt the day to individual needs, group energy, weather, and changing conditions. Building confidence, independence, curiosity, and connection is at the heart of what we do. We believe that experiencing the outdoors in a variety of weather helps kids become more capable and comfortable outside, so we venture out rain or shine whenever conditions are safe. Families will receive more detailed information and a packing list approximately one week before the program. We work with caregivers to help ensure each child arrives prepared with appropriate clothing, footwear, food, and gear for a full day outdoors. The nature of an outdoor program means that some circumstances are outside of our control. We carefully monitor weather forecasts and make real-time decisions based on current conditions, location, and risk assessment. In the event of severe or unsafe weather, a program may be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance and refunds will be issued. There is no rain make-up date.
