Dates: August 26th - 29th Dropoff Time: 9am Pickup Time: 4pm Ages: Rising 2nd-4th graders Group Size: Up to 10 Summer Camp with Maine Outdoor Kids is all about supporting your child’s growth and building their confidence. We do this by finding the sweet spot between allowing space for independence and supporting development. Over the course of the camp week, children will explore different outdoor locations with energetic & skilled instructors. It’s important to us that your child finds their voice through creativity, problem solving & social collaboration. Our team is there to facilitate activities, give choices, and prompt children’s thinking. There is no better atmosphere for this than the outdoors! Our programs are entirely outside which eliminates transitional time in vehicles, giving us an abundance of time at our chosen locations. Rain or shine, we venture outdoors and help build resilience and confidence being outdoors in all types of weather. We work with caregivers to make sure each child is prepared with proper clothes, footwear and food. A small camp size allows for flexibility so we can tune into each child’s individual needs, the weather and locations. Building connections with each child is where we excel. No two weeks of Adventure Camp are the same. While we have our favorite spots, each group will get to experience four very different locations. Each location has its own opportunities to explore and learn. We feel this approach connects children and their families to local outdoor spaces and builds a love and respect for the environment. Groups spend time at nearby beaches, lakes and rivers in addition to local parks, trails and woods. This gives campers a chance to appreciate what exists right in their own backyards and to enjoy all that our wonderful Maine summers have to offer. Older groups may also take the occasional ferry trip to islands within Casco Bay. Our days are spent learning about the surrounding environment, playing organized games, practicing various adventure sports, crafting and completing STEM challenges. Please see the FAQ page for additional information regarding camp logistics & registration.
