Where unstructured outdoor play meets adventure education. Dates: July 20-23 Dropoff: 9am Pickup: 3pm Grades: Rising K-2 Group Size: Up to 10 “Whether our kiddo is hot and sweaty from a game, catching frogs, or covered in mud from head to toe after a rainy day of creating, he’s grinning from ear to ear at pickup. We value MOK for inspiring and equipping our kids with the skills and mindset for lifelong exploration of—and appreciation for—the outdoors. The instructors truly care about the students and are treasured role models for our kids.” No two weeks of camp look the same. One day we might be exploring a tidal shoreline, the next we’re spotting frogs and turtles by the pond. Each spot brings something unique, helping kids connect with the natural spaces that exist right in their own community. Because our groups are intentionally small, we can stay flexible—choosing locations that match the forecast and energy of the group. We spend our full day outside, which means more time investigating, playing, and settling into the space without transitions in and out of vehicles. A Typical Day for Sprouts Might Include: - Hiking, scavenger hunts and woods play - Exploring beaches, tidepools, or canoeing freshwater spots - Climbing, balancing, jumping, and imaginative play - Nature crafts and storytelling - Group games that encourage collaboration, leadership & problem solving - Observing wildlife, plants, insects, and seasonal changes - Building & engineering with natural materials Our team of outdoor educators bring energy, experience, and a knack for knowing when to step in with support—and when to let kids lead. We collaborate with caregivers to ensure campers arrive prepared for weather, which allows us to embrace the full range of summer conditions with confidence and comfort. Summer Programs with Maine Outdoor Kids are more than time outside—they’re a season of growth, discovery, and connection. Children return home tired, muddy, and full of stories—stronger, more curious, and deeply connected to the natural world around them.
