Where mountain biking skills meet outdoor play. Dates: August 3-6 Dropoff: 9am Pickup: 4pm Grades: Rising 2–4 Group Size: Up to 10 This week blends the play and exploration of our standard camps with dedicated mountain biking instruction. Each day includes bike safety checks, skills drills, games, and group trail rides. Campers move through the fundamentals—body positioning, braking, shifting and cadence, climbing, and descending—with a new focus area each day. We also introduce Leave No Trace principles, basic bike maintenance, and trail etiquette. Campers will ride four different trail systems over the week, each offering its own terrain and style to explore. Whether your child is newer to trails or already riding confidently, there’s plenty of room to progress. What sets our instruction apart? Our mountain bike programs are led by educators who are trained in both outdoor education and professional bike instruction. Your child will be taught by a PMBIA-Certified Instructor alongside experienced outdoor leaders who understand child development, group dynamics, trail safety, and how to coach new skills in a supportive, playful way. This dual expertise ensures instruction that is safe, intentional, confidence-building—and fun. Mountain bike camp is high-energy and involves steady riding throughout the day. If your child would prefer a more relaxed approach, our Urban Bike Camp may be a better fit. While this camp welcomes a range of abilities, riders should have some basic trail experience, including the ability to ride for up to 60 minutes at a time and comfort operating their own bike. Please review the Bike FAQs for specific ability & gear requirements. Our intentionally small groups allow us to stay flexible—choosing locations based on weather, trail conditions, and the energy of the riders. We spend the full day outdoors, giving campers uninterrupted time to ride, play, and refine their skills. Before registering, please take a moment to read through our FAQs, Camp Readiness Criteria, and cancellation policy for important logistical details.
